Following the arrest of Ghislaine Maxwell on July 2, 2020, several baseless claims about her acquaintances have been circulating online. Since last week, Amazon and Wayfair have been the target of mischievous social media users.

Hence, it is no surprise that Wayfair is in the spotlight again with a July 11 tweet of a photograph claimed to be of Ghislaine Maxwell, Epstein's Madame and longtime confidant with Wayfair's President of Operations "Bill Hutcherson". This claim is not true.

While the picture itself is real and can be traced back to December 8, 2003 when Mark Mainz, a contributor on Getty Images took the picture in a socialite gathering on 5th Avenue in New York City, the caption of this image on Getty describes the man as an "unidentified man".

However, in a picture of the night taken by Tatlers and posted in 2004, the unidentified man is none other than George Bamford, owner and founder of the Bamford Watch Department.

In addition, no president of operations is listed on Mayfair's website. Rather, what the company has is a Vice President of Operations.
